Upon admission, AVSDA will provide you with fully-funded access to our 18 month service dog training program.

Students enroll as applicants seeking a dog through AVSDA or with their own approved dog. We do not place AVSDA dogs to applicants residing more than 50 miles from Manteno, Illinois.

As an enrolled student, you will receive training equipment you'll need for participation in our program; any extra items you desire are not provided but you can purchase them yourself. We hold a strict policy about approved training equipment; use of unapproved equipment is grounds for removal from the program.

Please note, we do not adopt dogs to program participants until they meet all criteria. Most students go through an adoption ceremony immediately following their graduation.

Our registration process requires you to complete all of the application materials. There are quite a few forms to fill out and submit; but don't be discouraged! We are here to walk you through the process and guide you every step of the way. Take your time and go at your own pace. If you have a caregiver or family member who might be willing and able to help, consider asking them to help you complete the registration process.
